The Eastern people network is nominating Silapakorn University's lecturer Renoo Vejratpimon, Choochai Suphawong, Pairoj Pholphet and Suthi Atchasai as representatives in the four-party committee to address the Map Ta Phut environmental issue.

The committee, chaired by former Anand Panyarachun, will represent the government, the private sector, academics and the general public.

Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said on Wednesday that the committee formation should take place next week.

Suthi, as leader of the network, noted that it remains to be seen how the committee will be formed, and then it will tell how the committee will perform.

The government will be represented by Deputy Prime Minister Korbsak Sabhavasu and officials from the ministries of Public Health, Natural Resources and Environment, and Industry.

Acording to Abhisit, the committee in the first month will review the 76 suspended industrial projects and will spend two months considering remedial measures and pollution control measures. In subsequent four months, it will review environmental rules
